at Berlin, CT. T.J. McNamara photo.
(bottom) The old Maybrook-Hartford freights were long gone by August 14,
1963, but the through route was still used for over-dimension loads, as
illustrated by these large tanks behind FA's 0406-0421. The tanks would
never have cleared the low wire and over head bridges on the main line in New
Haven. This train is on the siding on the Naugatuck line just north of Derby, CT
station awaiting a new crew before proceeding north. J.W. Swanberg photo.
